Summary
After twenty years of peace post fighting in a war and a long career bounty hunting on the planet he now calls home, Rex finds himself trapped in a lonely and unfulfilling rut and doesn't want to admit it.
However, after being set a challenge to change by his Mand'alor, Rex is faced with his whole world being shaken up in a single call from Social Services, about a relationship he had a decade ago and the consequences he'd never known about until now.
Now he's out of his rut, out of his comfort zone and most definitely out of his depth, whether he wants to be or not.
But Rex has never run from a challenge before, and he's not about to start now. It's only when the stakes are high that the reward is worth it. And this might be the best reward he ever got that he never asked for.

Summary
Tech stirred. Birds began to whistle. Echo’s phone buzzed.
He reached over with his one hand and thumbed the lock button without flipping it over. For a moment he just lay there, looking at his hand holding his phone, desperately, childishly wishing that he could just roll over and go back to sleep, and not have to wake up until it was tomorrow.
No dice. After taking in and releasing a careful breath, he flipped his phone over and took in the time.
In seven hours, it would be exactly two years since Fives died.
Echo endures the anniversary of Fives's death.

Summary
Fives watched as the scaly gray blur of the city grew closer and more distinct through the airplane window; blurry swamps of cement and black asphalt sprouted trees and lampposts, bodies of cars slid and moved over and past each other. It was afternoon in Ord Mantell, bright and golden, and after seven years of active duty service, Fives was almost home.
Fives finally returns home, but finds himself struggling to reintegrate with family he hasn't seen in years, who have already had time to adjust to life after the military. Feeling left behind, he fights to find a place for himself, and heals long-open wounds along the way.

Summary
Rex thought he was alright being alone.
