    Hayden knew he wasn’t stupid.

    Well, not completely. Well, he felt like he was pretty smart about some things, and, okay, a little oblivious about others. Still, he liked to think he was pretty far from stupid—especially when compared to his fellow hockey players.

    Like, he’d known that Shane had that off-and-on thing with that girl in Boston, Lily, for years. He didn’t know much more than that, and he especially didn’t know why Shane was so cagey about it, but his best friend was admittedly pretty weird about everything.

    Slight AU where Shane comes out to Hayden and J.J. around the time he breaks up with Rose, but Lily's identity remains a secret. For now.

    Really, Eddie doesn’t care that the PTA aren’t his biggest fan. He knows he misses too many meetings, and it’s not like he’s best friends with any of the other parents. It doesn’t affect Christopher, so it doesn’t bother him. He’ll pay for the annual fundraising mugs and consider his duty done.

    But then Buck picks Christopher up from a class trip and it all goes to hell.

    Like, of course Buck is everyone’s dream guy. He’s responsible with kids, and kind, and funny and interesting and hot to touch. That’s obvious. But now Eddie’s fighting to keep the PTA moms, teachers, and dads, all off an unsuspecting and tempting Buck.

    Because Eddie is a good friend. Right?

    “I’m stuck in your universe again, and I’m looking for Lena.”

    Kara’s cheeks go red and she stutters. “Why—um—would you think—uh, that she’s— here?”

    “Darling, have you seen my other earring?” Lena chooses this moment to step out of Kara’s room and head toward the kitchen, holding a lone earring in one hand and reaching to pull a mug from the cupboard above the sink with the other. Kara offers Barry a weak smile.

    OR, Barry Allen drops by on occasion, and always ends up confusing everyone. (And/or stressing them out.) Maybe he should work a little harder at remembering/paying attention to the differences between the universes. It’s been getting him into trouble that he doesn’t.
