The force quivered on a knife’s edge. A shatterpoint. Anakin had become the very thing he swore to destroy. It was his duty, his responsibility to execute the Sith. He had failed as a master and as a friend and now he must pay for it by killing the very thing he most loved. His affection for Anakin had blinded him to the growing darkness, soaking into his friend’s very bones and twisting his mind into something unknowable and terrifying.

Anakin was growing more and more certain with each minute that he was the wrong choice for Obi-Wan, no matter the draw he felt towards him. The force encircled and flowed between them smoothly, almost eagerly. Obi-Wan’s force signature was a soothing, steady pulse. A gentle wave brushing against him. Obi-Wan needed someone else. Someone gentle and understanding, kind and calm. Not erratic and impatient like him.

Like clockwork; check the time, numb the gums, wait for the bus, have a fag, start work, internally squirm under Vander’s undivided attention, make jaegerbombs on autopilot until his break, mood depending have a smoke out the back or a sneaky line in the bathroom, flirt shamelessly to no result, finish up and make the depressing early morning commute home.
Except nothing goes to plan tonight.

Vander makes an affronted sound; its effect is ruined by his smiling mouth and mirthful eyes.
"I'm making an observation of fact, no flattery of any sort. It's your color." He draws Silco another few shuffling feet until they're beside the bed properly, Vander's back to their cluttered side table. Vander drops one of Silco's wrists to reach backward, and Silco waits, patient, because he's learned with Vander that sometimes—more often than not—the wait is worth it. "I think it'd be nice to see you in more of it."

Summary
This is what those miners didn’t understand. Silco was very attracted to strength, to muscles, to broad shoulders and wide hands and immovable objects, but the strength was not as important as what a man could do with it.
(Or, Silco hates to be called pretty names by the miners, and loves to be called them by Vander. He wonders why.)
