Mafuyu wasn't home, she had left in the morning, before Kanade could say goodbye to her. Mafuyu had been extremely apologetic about missing Kanade's birthday. Really, it wasn't the lyricist’s fault that her math teacher thought weekly tests were a good idea, and this particular one had been especially important.
Mafuyu misses Kanade's birthday, but makes sure that the day is something to remember fondly forever :)
