His voice was raw, cracking with each shout that echoed and rattled through her brain. She was almost certain it was her name that he called. There was a current of anger, tinged with agony, lacing his words, and she was almost certain he was saying something else, almost positive. Something other than her name.
He was speaking, pleading it seemed, but all she could focus on was her name, like a mantra, in the most broken cacophony of prayers.
