Summary
After relegating Richmond, Jamie comes bursting into the locker room when Ted is giving his speech. He is clearly running from someone and it doesn’t take long for that someone – his dad – to show up too. It leaves everyone to grapple with a new side of the prickly striker, who no longer is a part of Richmond, but will still always be Richmond until they die.

He flies out of the open door then, up and away into the sky. He flies over the town, over Mick’s shop, over The Tongue and Tail, over the library.
He has no idea where he’s going because his body is screaming at him to return, to return to Esther and his cage and where he’s supposed to be, but he knows this is his one chance, his one opportunity to finally be free. So he flies. He catches an updraft and soars high above Port Townsend, above the lighthouse and the shoreline and the Visitor Centre. It’s incredible. He hasn’t been able to stretch his wings in so long and hasn’t been able to truly fly without restraint in decades.
He turns at an angle and flies along the coast, about to loop back around towards the town when it happens. When wings and feathers transform into hair and skin, and Monty falls.
