So: the thing about controlling your own timeline for coming out to the public about being engaged to the your very public rival who just so happens to also be the love of your whole goddamn life?
You’ve got a lot of leeway. A lot of opportunities to slip up and give yourself away.
Though: should your fiancé just so happen to be an absolute menace and troll extraordinaire on main, you might end up giving yourself away all the goddamn time, and on purpose, while no one fucking notices.
OR: three times Ilya and Shane really should have been caught out for being halfway married, and one last time when they (read: Shane) finally accepted that people were generally too stupid to put the obvious pieces together, even if those pieces were painted in neon colours, sitting right in front of their faces.
