Summary
Following the death of Dracula, Alucard could only feel the guilt that always seemed to pursue him throughout his immortal life. Returning to the castle he was born in and killing his own father reminded him of his true nature. A dhampir, a monster, like him had no place living amongst humans.
After being freed from Shaft’s possession, Richter is overcome with shame and remorse. Even if the dark priest had controlled his actions, he truly wished to resurrect Dracula and experience the thrill of battle once more. He was a pathetic excuse for a vampire hunter, forever tarnishing the Belmont legacy.
However, Alucard had saved Richter’s life that night.
Alucard only wishes to rid himself of the world and fall into another eternal slumber, but Richter refuses to let him throw himself away.

Summary
Natalie never expected to die a hero. She expected to die alone, coked out in the back of some shitty van, a victim to herself and her fucking impulses. Or, she expected to die in fear, victim to a hunt or a sacrifice to some stupid Wilderness God she doesn’t believe in. So, in some ways, maybe this is a plus:
Yay me, I guess. At least they can put ‘she tried’ on my gravestone.
But this doesn’t feel like a victory. All it feels like is cold. A cold, lonely death, buried in the snow and completely, entirely alone. A useless death. A death that no one will remember.
This is how she dies - not with a bang, but with a whimper.
And then she wakes up.
OR: Natalie never makes it to the mountain. A sudden blizzard claims her first. But when she opens her eyes, she's back to the day of the crash. This time, she’s determined to keep everyone alive - even if The Wilderness has other plans.

How long can a lie remain a lie before it becomes a justification to linger? For how long can one lie about motivations before the lie becomes their truth?
Shadow Milk Cookie makes good on his threat that Pure Vanilla Cookie's kindness will be his undoing. He arrives in the Vanilla kingdom asking for help, lying that his followers have turned on him and his magic is gone. This lie wraps him up in itself until he is completely enmeshed, unable to tell where the lie ends, and where his true motivations begin. That lie becomes an excuse to linger.
