Scott helps after Vegas subdrop And Rozanov, I’m not doing this for you. I’m doing it for Shane. He’s the best player in the league, smarter than anyone on the ice, but he’s also gentle. He deserves to be loved. He needs people looking after him. I know he can take care of himself, but you know he won’t ask for support if he needs it, so you need to step up, okay? If this whole thing goes to shit and the media or the guys hurt him, you hurt them back harder. Alright?” Ilya’s eyes narrow. “What do you mean he is ‘tactile’ with you. What does this mean?”
“Oh you know, touchy? He’s a hugger, seems to like it when he has an arm around him. He’ll grab my arm when we’re chatting, it’s nice, it doesn’t bother me. Just how Shane is,”
“Relax, I’m not going after your man. He’s a sweet kid but too young for me,”
“You are right, would be very inappropriate. Not good to rob a cradle, old man,”
Scott held his breath as he watched the pair. He hated to admit it, but Shane did look really right in Rozanov’s arms. It was sort of gross watching them be so saccharine.
After a few minutes Shane’s breathing had evened back out and Ilya relaxed back into him.
Scott rolled his eyes incredulously. How Rozanov could go from caring and doting lover to possessive manic that quickly was beyond him. “I was serious, Rozanov. If I hear of this happening again, or you mistreat Shane poorly in any way, I will send all of The Admirals out for your blood. That’s not a threat, that’s a fucking promise. Instead, Ilya fell into bed beside him with the solid plan of sending Shane out the next morning in one of his own sweatshirts. Maybe the one he got back when he first visited Saskatchewan. He packed it on every trip he went on. It was worn and soft, and there was no annoying tag so maybe Shane would let him dress him in it. Let him stake his claim in a subtle way. Soft spot for the younger players sleeping beauty
