    The second hour

    Shadow wakes up in a forest. He realizes after meeting a variant of Sonic who calls himself Blue Jay that the Paradox Prism has been shattered again. He wishes he knew how. After meeting the rest of Blue Jay's band of Merry Men, Shadow decides to join forces with them. They want to put Blaze the Flameheart back on the throne; Shadow wants to defeat the witch helping the corrupted vassals. His memories may be hazy, but he knows she's to blame for this.

    In the next shatterspace, Shadow lands in Onyx Hills, an industrial city plagued by corruption and gangs. This time, he has to figure out where the shard is first while avoiding starting a gang war. But there’s more to this city and its inhabitants than meets the eye.
    Driven by a desire to end this as quickly as possible, Shadow is roped into a prophecy to defeat the Godslayer in the last shatterspace. But what does it truly mean to kill the one who slays gods?

    Summary

    Sonic's life was simple: he worked at an old hotel with his friends Tails, Knuckles, and Amy under the keen yet greedy eye of Rouge. Sure money wasn't great and restoration work was hard, but the hedgehog was content. As long as he earned enough to support his little brother, that was all he needed.

    Everything gets turned upside down when Sonic encounters Seaside Hotel's resident ghost: an ebony hedgehog named Shadow. He's quiet, elusive, bejewelled in a dazzling outfit, and mute to everyone except Sonic. If the blue hedgehog wasn't even around, he refused to show his face.

    The more Sonic hangs out with them, the more he wants to learn. Just who is Shadow the Hedgehog? What is his connection to Seaside Hotel?

    Sonic isn't sure what lies at the bottom of that rabbit hole, but he is determined to take the leap.

    Metal Sonic has one objective: To return to his master, Dr Robotnik. But with all his damages, Metal Sonic has no choice but to take the long way home, finding himself roped into the troubles and conflicts of Sonic's friends (much to his dismay).

    But along the way, Metal Sonic finds that his beliefs may not be as binary as he thinks.
