Havers was only a few meters away. The Captain couldn’t believe his own body for betraying him so harshly. As he collapsed time seemed to come to a staggering halt. In those seconds he faded in and out of consciousness, desperate to keep his eyes trained on –
“Sir! Sir!” And there he was, at his side.
Just because they're closeted bumbling old buffoons in love doesn't mean one of them doesn't have the First Aid skills to save the other's life. BBC, I love you for creating Ghosts, but I am un-burying your gays and giving them the time to heal and talk things through (as a crew).

'Somewhere in his mind, he notes that he was the one who Havers came to about the injury. Somewhere in his mind, the Captain smiles. For now, he remains concentrated on the wound, and when it's finally stopped bleeding, he leads Havers down to the nearest tap, and turns on the cold water.'
