Summary
Mumbo, an estranged vampire, has forsaken his family to flee from the destructionist and murderer that his family wants him to be. Seeking solace and redemption, he stumbles upon the remnants of an ancient temple, guarded by the deity, Grian, a once revered deity, now a fallen and disgraced figure, exists only as a haunting memory in the dust-covered pages of faded books. Mumbo finds himself drawn to the temple, mesmerized by the deity that dwells within.

When Grian joins Mumbo working at The Hermit Coffee Co., he is thrown into a world of caffiene and chaos, with meddling co-workers, rambunctious regulars, and an absolutely henious amount of group chats. The friends he left back home miss him, Mumbo's college friends (cough, frat bros, cough) keep pestering him, and his new friendship with a certain scarred individual is developing in a way he never expected.
Will he be able to shake off the meddling redstoners? What will happen when there are two potential romances blossoming on either side of him? And will these baristas ever stop texting each other and just make me my goddamn soy-milk capuccino?

“Maybe I was forcing it too much before,” Peter speaks lowly, his brows knitting together. “Trying to transfer the suit under stressful conditions probably only inhibits its cell communication pathways and increases the risk of an inflammatory response.”
“Pete.” Harry’s tongue feels heavy in his mouth, but he thinks his best friend’s name slips out of it. He can’t be sure.
“But it knows you,” he continues. His hand presses more firmly to Harry’s arm and glides up his bicep, bunching his short sleeve against his shoulder. Harry doesn’t breathe. “It knows how to bond with you. If I just initiate contact without straining myself, without straining the suit, I…I think it might go willingly? Maybe all it needs is a bridge.” Peter delicately smooths out a stray curl near Harry’s eye and brushes his thumb against his temple, pondering. “And some time. I can give it both. I mean, we have all night.”
