He heard shuffling inside. Then Shoto called out, “I’m fine!”
“You need anything?” Katsuki asked the door.
“No. You can go to bed.”
Katsuki hesitated, trying to put into words how stupid this was and how Shoto should also just come to bed with him. It was just Quirk exhaustion, so what if it kept them up at night? Hadn’t Shoto stayed up with him through five illnesses of his own, playing courier for water and cough drops and tissues at three in the morning? Cooling Katsuki’s burning forehead with his own right hand?
Why wouldn’t he let Katsuki do that for him? Did he think Katsuki wasn’t capable? Did Shoto think he himself was a burden? These were the questions Katsuki wanted to ask—and never even got close.
