Summary
Neil wants nothing more than to accept Wymacks offer and join the Foxes.
But Abram seems to have his concerns - rightly so, since Abram knows things, Neil should never learn about. The longer Neil stays with the Foxes though, the more often he hears this one name - and apparently Neil is the only one who doesn't know what it means: Moriyama.

It’s common knowledge that, from the moment you are born, you can see every color except one particular shade: the one of your soulmate’s irises. In its stead you perceive plain grey – lack of color, to be precise – until you see it in their eyes. Nicky spent seventeen years walking on grass of various shades of grey. Matt hated the look of colorless dark chocolate until he met Dan’s wide, fierce eyes. And Andrew? Andrew can't see the sky.

A soulmate au in which you can’t see the particular color of your soulmate’s eyes until you see your soulmate’s eyes. Thus: how Andrew and Neil found out about their soulmate (an introspective analysis, from a more… colorful perspective).

Andrew and Neil, from the perspective of each of the foxes
--------------------
“What’s their deal?” Jenny asked Kevin. He almost jumped when he heard how close her voice was behind him. He hadn’t seen her move.
“What do you mean?” Kevin asked. He had a few ideas of what she could have been asking, but he wasn’t certain of which one it was.
“Neil and Andrew,” Jenny said, motioning towards the pair. “They’re obviously together, but I don’t understand their relationship. It’s like Andrew doesn’t even care what Neil does half the time.” Kevin muttered something about not letting Andrew hear her say that they’re together, then thought for a moment before answering.
“I’m not sure. More importantly, it only affects how Andrew plays, but it’s for the better so I don’t want or need to get involved with what they do in their free time,” Kevin finally said after a long stretch of silence.

“Wait, you’ve never heard Andrew purr?” Nicky asked incredulously, nearly slipping off the locker room bench in surprise.
“Is that a bad thing?” Neil hadn’t thought about Andrew purring before.
“I mean,” Nicky continued, trying not to catch Neil’s eye. “It's something cat hybrids do when they’re happy, yeah? I guess I’d feel a little insecure if my partner never purred around me.”
And oh, that settled something twisted and ugly deep in Neil’s gut. Was Andrew not happy with him?
