When a local bookstore goes up for sale, Jason can't help but put in an offer. Except...he knows nothing about running a business, or how to turn a profit from the eclectic collection of books it comes with. At least there's a spare room, which means he can get a renter.
Danny, bored to tears in summer school, is happy to do Clockwork a favor. The fact that the favor is renting a room halfway across the US is...strange, but it's got to be more exciting than class.
In other news, John Constantine comes home to find a neat pile of his belongings, packed by an unseen hand, and no house. But that part doesn’t really matter.
What matters is Jason owning a magical bookstore–only he doesn't know it yet.

Unfortunately they do, and now they're trying to prove that the shop's owner must be a vampire, a hypnotist, or even something as outlandish as an angel. It probably doesn't help that Crowley keeps encouraging them...
But despite that, even the sane parts of the internet seem to be having a blast following the bookshop's history through war, fire, romance, temporary abandonment, and a tooth-rottingly sweet happy ending – all through the lens of a couple of Yelp reviews.

It's only then that Batman starts hunting him down.
But not for the reasons you might be thinking.

Summary
Tim's dad is dead, killed by a boomerang to the chest, and Tim is an orphan now. He knows Bruce would adopt him if needed but he couldn't possibly impose himself on the Wayne's more than he already has. It's okay though, because he has a plan for this, he just needs someone to play the role of his estranged "Uncle Eddie".
Except... the guy he hires is weirdly concerned about his well being and Tim can't figure out why.
Meanwhile, Jason Todd is forced to reevaluate his plans for his debut as Red Hood, because, as it turns out, his replacement is a suicidal idiot who can't be trusted to stay out of trouble.
OR
Tim Drake fails to recognize Jason Todd, back from the dead, and hires him to be his Uncle Eddie to avoid getting adopted by Batman. Somehow this ruins everyone's plans.
