Hermit’s Hollow was a quiet town where you learned to ignore whisperings of nonsense and the dull, persistent feeling of being watched before you learned to ride a bike. To call it pedestrian would be a great disservice to all the terrible oddities occupying it— folks and legends alike.

Summary
The man hovering over him leaned back, releasing Grian completely. Cold night air rushed in to fill the void.
“I guess it’s out in the open now,” the stranger hummed. “Shame. I wanted to avoid this.”
With the additional glow occupying the space between them, Grian was finally able to catch features that were lost in the prior darkness. His curiosity outweighed all else, and he drank them in greedily. As soon as he saw who sat across from him, alarms blared in his mind.
This man wasn’t a civilian, wasn’t even a hero.
“Hello, Doctor,” the villain mused. “You were quite the help today.”

Summary
Another deep breath. His throat started to burn more intensely but he pushed the feeling down. It was stupid that his body wanted to be fed again already, after all, Dream had allowed him an extra meal before he went off to ensure he wouldn’t faint during the mission. It was very considerate of him and Tommy was thankful. He didn’t know if he’d made it through the night otherwise. The stress seemed to gnaw away at his reserves even more than usual. (Not that he’d much of those, anyway – his new body seemed to demand blood all the fucking time. It was disgusting. He really was a monster.)
OR
Tommy’s life hasn’t been that great recently with forcefully being turned into a vampire and being just barely kept alive by the hunters. And it’ll come to a quick end if he doesn’t prove to them that he can be useful. The annual Solstice ball at the Syndicate coven’s manor seems to be his chance to prove his worth: He needs to gather information about vampires there; information that can help the hunters bring them down. Easy, right?

Grian hadn't ever been expecting someone to follow through on courting ritual with him. He'd been crushing hard on his co-worker turned crime-fighting partner for years at this point, and Scar certainly had no idea that avians had that sort of thing. Specific little thoughtful gestures that would send a sign that whoever was doing the deed was interested. And as much as Grian would adore being spoiled by Scar performing all these little things that made his wings ruffle under his red sweater, pleased and basking in the attention, he knew it would never happen. Scar didn't know about avian courtship ritual.
He didn't.
Grian knew that he didn't know.
So if he didn't, why was he doing every ritual so perfectly?{In which Scar stumbles ass-backward into performing all 5 of the typical avian courtship gestures in his attempts at wooing Grian, Grian is desperately trying to convince himself he's still in the friend zone, Jimmy's busy having his own relationship crisis, and Pearl will meddle all she needs if it'll get these idiots together already.}

Summary
The trio falls into an awkward “silence”, it wasn’t exactly silent, the loud chattering and obnoxious music playing in the background was enough to keep them from feeling isolated. Gem sits up straight and rubs her nose bridge. This was just way too much to handle, the kingdom’s “financial problem” had been affecting a lot of the people living in this kingdom. The rent and price of basic needs had been rising while workers had been paid less. Same with their day-to-day missions. No one wants to hire “mutants” for normal work these days. Gem glances back up to the bulletin board, noticing a new paper. Gem stands up and rushes to the board, stopping in front of the paper. Impulse and Skizz follow her gaze before Skizz stands up and walks over to Gem, trying to read it too. Impulse remained seated, only watching the two.
Strange.
Gem thought cults weren’t real

Gem, Skizz and Impulse are desperate bounty hunters that are willing to stop a cult for only eighty gold, Pearl is a strange and unsettling baker that may know more about Watchers and Evo than she lets on.

Grian stretches out his parrot wings as he enters his dorm room, closing the door behind himself.
He had a full day of classes and a shift at his part time job at one of the many coffee shops on the college campus, and he is exhausted.
The avian looks at his wings as he sets his messenger down by his desk, and groan, they are a mess.
"What's wrong, Gri?" Scar, Grian's roommate, asks as the dirty blond boy pulls off his red sweater, leaving him in just a white tank top with holes in the back for his wings.
"Wings." Grian answers, kicking off his trainers and sitting on his bed.
He starts to preen the feather he can reach.
"Do you want me to help you?" Scar asks him.

Doc rubbed a thoughtful hand over his mouth, one blunt-clawed thumb tracing the curve of his lower lip. “Allow me to make sure I am understanding you,” he said, slowly, staring down into the hole in front of him. The dull glitter of the void reflected in the red glass of his bionic eye. “You created a hole in the world. You gave it a name. And you kept throwing yourselves into it.”
(In which Scar is missing, Boatem has a single collective braincell at best, and Doc is very tired.)
