Chishiya didn't believe the words leaving his mouth for a second. He'd never see Arisu again, and that was just the reality of things.
"I'll see you then." Arisu said. "Good luck."
"Yeah, you too."
Or: What if Chishiya was the one to press the button with Arisu during the game of tag, and as a result, was the one to find him after the deaths of Karube and Chota? Alice in Borderland but Chishiya and Usagi switch roles because why not.

Summary
Jake Peralta left the 99th for an undercover mission with the FBI to dismantle a mafia family. He was supposed to be back after a few months, at most, strutting back with a smug grin and unbelievable stories to share. He was naïve and unexperienced.
Jakey the Jew lived on for almost two years. He joined one of the most influential mafia families of the East Coast and helped taking down the biggest mafia in NYC. He came back a changed man, with blood-curling memories and unexpected responsibilities.
To say that the 99th was puzzled was an understatement. But they were going to be there for him. Always. Especially Amy, who spent years playing their last conversation in her head over and over again.
Jakey the Jew was dead. They now had to bring Jake Peralta back to life.Series
