Your eyes flashed open and you jolted upright, your breath heaving. That dream again. It lingered in your mind. You raised your knees, resting your elbows on them. You put your head in your hands, frowning.
That dream. It was so real. So familiar. Like the voice of your grandmother. You scrunched your face in confusion. Your thoughts made no sense. But it felt so personal. So intimate.
You looked around the tent. It was extremely early. The sky was just inviting the Sun to visit. The others were still sleeping. Even Ignis which was surprising. You were up before Ignis? Again? How many times was this now? Four? Ever since the dreams had started.

The front door of the store opened and you instinctually greeted whoever it was without bothering to look up. “Welcome to Bastard Sword Books,” you said, trying not to sound bored.
“Heyaz!”
“Hey, Y/N.”
You looked up. It was the Prince and his blonde haired friend again. Prompto, was it? That sounded right.
You smiled sincerely, no need for the plastic smile everyone else got. They came into the store often enough, they felt like a constant fixture here.

Summary
“This place feels unending. We’ve been down here for hours and there’s been no sign of anything.” You adjusted your hold on your axes. While you could pull your axes easily from the armiger at a moment’s notice, the familiar smoothness of the wooden handles grounded you.
You didn’t particularly like caves all that much. Prompto always complained about his claustrophobia, but yours was on a slightly different level. You were just more close-mouthed about it.

Noctis was all grins. Then he frowned slightly. Yeah, there was a lot of cash, but the notes on top were single gil amounts. He quickly flipped through the stack, trying to get an idea of what they were looking at. They were all single notes. He double-checked the envelope, making sure there wasn’t anything left in there. There wasn’t.
”Shit!” Noctis’ reaction startled everyone in the car.
”What? What is it?” Prompto asked, looking back at Noctis as he started counting out their gil, frowning deeply.
Noctis got to the end of the pile. He closed his eyes, letting his head fall backward, groaning loudly.
“What?” Prompto asked again.
Noctis counted again, slower this time, trying to make sure he didn’t miss any notes. He got to the end again.
“Five hundred gil!” He said in frustration. “Five hundred f*cking gil!”
”You’re joking, right?” Gladio asked.

Summary
Sound was warping in Noctis’ ears. An alarm was blaring, but it faded in and out of the background, ebbing and flowing like the ocean tide. Footsteps pounded outside the tiny cell, yelling, screaming. Was there screaming? Or was it the alarm? The sound of gun shots. More yelling.
The door to the cell banged open.
”Over here! I found him!” Footsteps. “Noct! Noct! Oh gods, please don’t be dead.”
Noctis tried to move, but his body had failed him long ago. At this point, he was just waiting for death to come.
There were fingers on his wrist. A huge breath of air.
”Oh thank the Astrals. He’s alive.”
More running footsteps.
”Is he -?”
”Still alive.”
More sighs of relief.
”Who is that?”
”I have no idea.”

Summary
Noctis, Ignis, Gladio, and Prompto a.k.a the crown prince and his entourage run into a lot of trouble when the epileptic prince and his anxiety disorder suffering best friend both run out of their prescription medication at the same time. That usually wouldn't be a problem….but the funds are already tight. With Noctis suffering from seizures and Prompto dealing with increased stomach aches, the gravity of the situation finally begins to set in. Someone is going to have to take one for the team.

Or: Noctis is an idiot and hides his condition until he ends up in the hospital because bathroom sinks do not cause appendicitis.

While camping Prompto comes across a strange flower. It leads to a peculiar situation where Prompto sustains any type of pain sensation Noctis acquires. And we all know instead of telling the guys about what's going on, Prompto is up to his usual shenanigans and decides to keep it to himself and sustain all of Noctis' injuries because, that will make him useful to the group right?

Noctis has been gone for three days.
"They had been waiting for a slip-up - for anything - from their kidnapper. This had obviously been a planned attack, every move calculating and cold. Noctis was taken from his apartment about twenty minutes after Ignis had left for the night. In the past days, Ignis had torn himself to shreds over how if he had just stayed a few more minutes, they wouldn’t be in this situation. Because of him, the man he had devoted his whole life to was laying half-dead on the floor of some cold building, and there was absolutely nothing he could do about it."
