Secrets had a way of being weaponised when half the inhabitants of base possessed both telepathy and no sense of shame. Neil didn’t care for anyone else’s secrets; Andrew didn’t care to let anyone in. Their dragons, well, they cared a lot, mostly about each other.

Summary
When Andrew, Renee's right hand man, asks her to holiday with him while he visits his paramour in a neighbouring (rival) kingdom, Renee is only too happy to go along. When that holiday turns into her scheming her way into a royal competition to win the hand of Princess Allison, well, that she's less happy about, but needs must. And one of her co-competitors, a rough street fighter with a smile to die for, is interesting enough that Renee doesn't feel like losing quite so soon.
If she can balance falling in love while trying her best to arrange a Walkeran-Reynoldian marriage and end a decade old feud involving a horse and a dinner plate, well, no one said Renee couldn't multitask.

Nie Huisang raises an eyebrow and pulls out a French horn. In the front of the room, Wei Wuxian’s voice rises.
“I’ve never seen you use that,” says Jiang Cheng.
“I’m a man of many mysteries.”
Wen Qing turns around. Her rubberband and cereal box guitar creaks ominously in her hands. At her glare, the two of them fall silent just in time to hear Lan Wangji say, cool as a cucumber:
“It is no wonder that Wei Ying never writes for real instruments, since he can barely write for ones of his own creation.”
Nie Huisang looks like Christmas has come early. “This is even better than I imagined.”
