Summary
She hated the feeling of being helpless and needy. Maybe even hated admitting that she had needs. The idea of baring them to someone, even someone she loved, put her on edge. She knew that Jack was offering to take care of her, but she also knew even he had his limits.
As Samira stewed on it, she didn't see the harm in pushing those limits a little. If Jack was going to send her home from work because she was too sick to help other people, then perhaps she'd show him what being too sick to help herself would look like.

Summary
Opening the trunk of her Honda Fit, she rolls her neck, sighing at the way her ligaments pop. It’s the coldest morning on record in the year so far, and she doesn’t look forward to sitting in her car while it takes longer than it should to warm up. I just want to go home, crawl into bed, and sleep until it’s dark again.
That last thought pops like a bubble—she slips out of consciousness into silence. When she wakes, it’s in a soft bed in a room that isn’t hers.
