Not for the first time, Peter realizes how much everyone has changed and how little he knows them. He envisions his mentor: married, retired, and with a daughter, and wonders how much of that statement is true. Does he have a dog? Does he still eat Asian food with a fork? Did he miss Peter?
Peter is the first to look away. There’s a knot at the back of his throat and a sting in his eyes he can’t explain. His leg bounces. His knuckles crack. He no longer feels a part of a circle he so desperately fought to be in because he’s been replaced by a kid who hates him.
OR: After Tony survives the snap, Peter comes back, unsure if he still belongs in Tony’s life.

The night before, Alex accidentally heard Magnus talking to Halfborn, and took it in a way that was pretty much the opposite of what Magnus was really saying. Still, even the worst accidents can lead to something much better, and all it took was a vague lump of pottery, a couple of “I’m sorries,” and a few laughs at Magnus’s expense.
