Mydeimos is used to it—he is used to suppressing his regenerative abilities just so he could give Phainon the satisfaction of leaving marks on his body whenever they made love to each other. The current state of his hand wouldn't exactly count as a “mark”, but it serves as a proof of one thing—
That the King of Castrum Kremnos had been right there next to his beloved queen when he needed him them most, even though all he could do was offer his hand for him to hold onto while whispering words of love and encouragement as Phainon labored and broke that hand in ways he didn't knew was even possible.
