He expected her to blush, maybe, laugh and swat his arm in that way of hers, in that way she does every time he insists on sharing his mushiest thoughts. But she moves very little, only her smile softens slightly, and her pupils blow wider. "You think you'd find me again? In another life?" She says softly, a little breathlessly "Even if I wasn't me anymore?"
And there is no way that his soul, if it were to venture onto another life, wouldn't start wars to find this again.

Percy is all but dishonest. That doesn't frighten her. What seeps fear into her, deep into her bones and rattles her core, is that he will keep his promise. He has kept it. Hes been taking hits and falling from heights for her since thay day at The Arch, all those years ago.
Nothing could save him where he is now, drowning in her damp hair. Not her begging, not her leaving, not her dying.
"Im sorry." Is all she can manage against his temple.
Or- before the day breaks and their quest has to keep going, Percy and Annabeth have a night to themselves, to wash away the sweat and dust of Tartarus

“Is this okay?” He let the pads of his fingertips brush her side. Her shiver came again and his worry heightened.
“Yes,” Annabeth said.
Percy flattened his hand on her waist. He relished the immediate warmth that seeped from beneath her shirt. In case she felt cold again, he moved his hand downward and up again in hopes that it could warm her up more.
Annabeth let out a low sigh and burrowed backwards into his front. His hand slipped down until his fingers were pressing into her tummy. She didn’t say anything or undo her move. In fact, her breathing started to slow.
