They had met a few decades ago, or so. It could’ve been half a century to his world. When the Fire Lord had been meddling with a precious stone of some sort that had allowed him to travel throughout multiple realms- all uninteresting, for him.Until he found out the Never-Realm.
Or, more precisely, until he found the ruler of this world.(basically 5k of smut between evil Kai and Ice Emperor Zane. yeah)

Note: This is set in an AU where Kai was kidnapped at a young age by Chen, and raised alongside Skylor. He’s recovering from injuries from his near death after he pushed Nya away from Chen and melted the staff with his bare hands. The ninja have welcomed him to the ship, but he’s a scarred man, and doesn’t trust anyone as far as he can throw em.
