Summary
For all purposes, it should be an amazing evening. Not too hot, not too cold. All their friends could make it, even Rose with the broken foot. Poe brought the good manchego, and there's even good league gossip, too. It should be an amazing evening at the local bocce courts, playing in the goofy little bocce league their community manages to scrounge together every year.
It's just- It's just Ben. It's like he does this on purpose. It's like he annoys her and doesn't expect her to, eventually, hit her limit. But she's not going to hit her limit, she swears.
She swears.

Rey places her hands on her hips, as he turns to her with a sneer on his long face. His sunglasses, expensive things that nobody should wear as well as he does, glint in the evening summer sunset when he shrugs at the whole court with a frown, and Poe groans at the statement.
"What,” Ben prods, “What, Poe. What.”

Summary
He's nowhere, really. The world between worlds is nowhere. It is, quite literally, a space in-between. A space where neither the dead nor the living inhabit, but rather made for those crossing from one plane to the next. Or, perhaps, a bridge where some very special individuals can cross freely between.
This is an exploration of the "world between worlds" taken in the most literal way possible.

This is a place, the wind whispers softly, gently, where nothing hurts, and everything is good.
This is a place, the wind whispers again, more insistently this time, as a weight nudges his shoulders back and forces them down and loose, where nothing hurts, and everything is alright now.
He blinks, and breathes deeply. The scent of sweet green grass, early spring and laden with sugar, and a floral, familiar scent fills his lungs. His mind unravels, unspools his thoughts from one another as he feels a soft, thin, slightly cool breeze brush against his sensitive skin.
You know this place.

Summary
Ben never wished for a do-over, or a second chance, or a meeting where he could be a little braver, but he got one anyways. He got one, though he's almost sure he never should have.
And Rey never thought she'd see him again after graduation, through she does. Through a window, storming down the street like his pants are on fire. But he's little more scarred by the world, a little more lost than she remembered him being. A little bit more skittish than she thinks she ever knew he was.
She should have given him a chance, then. Should have listened better to the things he didn't say. She wishes she had, so much.
Maybe she can do it now?
--
The bell over the door rings, bright and tinkling, and he snaps his gaze up to the woman standing in the doorway, tote bag slung over her shoulder and one lock of hair haphazardly escaping her high bun.
His heart stops in his chest, or at least it nearly does, at the sight of her.
He can’t believe they’re really doing this.

Summary
Second Olympics, second time around, second time competing...
Ben Solo knows exactly what he's doing. He's been here before, he's had his olympic schedule printed out and plastered to the inside of his travel folder since nationals. No surprises, he's here to do a job. He's here to win.
Until-
Well, she hadn't been part of the equation.
Rey.
------
“Let me guess what you’re here for-“
“That makes us sound like we’re in prison-“ He balks, leaning back as she leans closer. Nearly falling off of the table bench in the process, as she hums up at him.
She shushes him, holding an insistent finger up, “shut up. Let me guess.”
Ben blinks, slightly dazed by this sudden turn in the conversation, as the girl grabs her cereal bowl and she begins to eat without looking down at it. A mix of fruit loops and fruity pebbles, if Ben is correct in his notice.

Summary
They meet entirely on accident.
A sleepwalker, who learned how to open her front door the one week her roommate is out of town, and the nightwalker. A man who can't sleep, because he's too fucked in the head to get a good night rest anyways.
Not like he deserves it.
Not like he deserves her.
She thinks otherwise.
~Z…z…z…~
The problem with having chronic nightmares isn’t falling asleep. In fact, that never seems to be an issue for Ben Solo when he settles in for the night. He’s usually lights out within the first fifteen seconds of letting his head hit the pillow in his weird little black bedroom; pulling his blankets up to his chest and curling up on his side as everything fades to a satisfying and complete darkness around him.
It is the staying asleep, the continuous and steady REM cycle needed for a full night's rest, that is hard to maintain.
Which is quite difficult, when one wakes up gasping for air and sweat-soaked at least once a night. When one has to develop a routine for that particular moment, and the brain needs to catch up with what it has inflicted on itself.
