He doesn’t expect to start finding meaning is everything this town stands for. And he definitely doesn’t expect the local bakery owner who shows him everything good about it.

His new problem? The scent seems to be everywhere and nowhere, and his favourite candy shop's distractingly cute new employee, Lando Norris—a business major plotting world domination one sour belt at a time—is being weirdly unhelpful about the whole thing.
It’s a classic case of “he’s not a snack, he’s the whole damn meal,” but for a phantom candy, and Oscar hasn’t gotten the memo yet that it's not the candy but the other whole damn meal he is ready to sell his soul for.

It looked real. Too real.
“Brilliant, lads!” PR said. “We’ll send the relevant pictures to you two to post, alright?”
Lando leant back into his seat, muttering, “Brilliant, huh? Guess we’re good at pretending.”
Oscar glanced at him, still caught off guard.
“Yeah,” he says quietly. “Guess we are.”
The next day, the picture hit Instagram.

AKA Oscar thinks Lando hates him. Lando is secretly in love the entire time. They fake date to clean up a PR nightmare. It doesn't quite go as anyone expects.
