Eddie’s mouth quirked into a smile, showing a dimple, and it was literally heroic of Buck to leave the house with all that going on. “Tell Maddie,” Eddie offered. “Swear her to secrecy. And we’ll just keep it to ourselves until Chris is back on Friday.”
He was so smart. His best friend was so smart and also wanted to kiss him and also said they were practically engaged.
“Good plan,” said Buck, fighting gravity to continue his way out the door. “It’s just one week. How hard could it be?”

The memories aren’t fully fleshed out, only flashes of places, people, and feelings. Sometimes they’re tangible, so much so he feels like he can reach it within his fingertips and hold them there.
He’d be washing dishes, and he’d feel the phantom arms of Eddie around his waist, the junction of his neck and shoulder feeling warm. For a flash, he’d see a different kitchen than the one he was in. He’d be looking at a menu in a restaurant, and he thinks he’d hear Eddie’s voice asking, ‘You gonna order the usual?’ When he glances down at the table, he’d be surprised he’s not seeing a deep green tablecloth. He’d doze off on the couch and feel his cheek land on Eddie’s chest, arms wrapping around him, and he’d open his eyes to find himself alone.
How do you explain that away? Missing something you can’t fully remember having?

The Cat Queen looked around at the empty office. “Clearly,” she said with a laugh. “But my matter is indeed urgent and is related to Port Townsend. The Cat King requires your help,” she explained, looking straight at Edwin.
Charles seemed to lose his patience at that. “I don't know who that bastard thinks he is, but you can tell him-”
“I thought the Cat King likes to do his own investigatios and trials. We help ghosts. If we solved every supernatural problem, our hands would be full all the time,” Edwin explained, though he couldn't deny that he was curious about what it was the Cat King required of them.
“He told me you'd say something like that,” The Cat Queen said, not wiping the grin off her face. “And he told me to tell you that it is tied to a ghost. Apparently a witch has decided to haunt him, a witch you two took care of when you were there.”
OR
When the Cat King presents the Dead Boy Detectives with a case that could be a danger to them all, they don't have much of a choice other than to help. Demons and feelings make the job a lot messier.
