Summary
Tim has always been on the outside of the family; even Gotham didn't see it fit to grant him the same blessing of wings she gave to the other Robins. He didn't see any reason why that would change, so it didn't even strike him that the pain in his back might be connected to the problem.
Jason just wanted to show Batman what happens when his birds fly loose. He did not expect to find Robin bleeding from his back and screaming in pain.
or: Gotham picks the worst possible time to start Tim's fledging, but it ends up bringing a family back together, so that's a win, right?

“I don’t do things in half measures. I’m gonna be there for every PTA meeting, every club invite, every fucking carpool you understand? I don’t need some white bread, pearl clutching bitch telling me I’m a shitty Guardian just ‘cause I didn’t ask for this.”

The only thing worse than crawling out of your own grave to find your father had replaced you with the first black haired, blue eyed preteen he could find, is said replacement begging you to sign emergency foster papers... except maybe you signing said papers and having to learn how to be a parent on the fly... But suddenly, three children—three godlings, living godlings—showed up out of nowhere, without their parents' claims, protection, or affection. They looked so thin, so scared, so little! They would be so loved and cared for if they just stopped running.
(Percy, Nico, and Thalia not liking this new, strange, weird universe where their parents are total helicopters, they would like to go home, the Fates can get other demi-gods to kidnap)
