Summary
Shang QingHua hurried through what could only be a forest, despite the darkness of it. Only the light of a dim sun and his own patterns illuminated his path as he weaved through trees away from his pursuers. Whereas his features were vital for survival on his home planet, they were now a clear indicator of where he was when surrounded by nothing but darkness.
He almost wondered if he should pause to slather grime on his patterns when he saw a light through the trees. He ran faster, breaking through and hurrying to where bright lights would make his own seem dull or, hopefully, nonexistent.
