    It was such a weird sight to see, someone with a bloody bruised arm and broken wing. He was wearing a red jumper, holding a dull purple bag, and was sprinting through the streets, definitely with a destination in mind.

    Grian did not care. He needed to get back to his apartment. He knew that there was a medical kit ready for this; he just hoped that Scar wasn’t home to see his distressed state. He had already planned for an event like this so it shouldn’t have worried him.

    But his feelings disagreed with his thoughts.

    Scar is a hero while Grian is a villain, both in their own teams that fight for control over the city. However, they never told each other that despite living with each other for over a year. After a while, fate started to slip things out of control. Secrets are revealed.

    "Scar?" Grian repeated, more shifting, like he was sitting up. Tired but gentle confusion in his voice. "Are you okay?"

    Scar should've hung up. It was bad enough he'd actually called. He should've lied, should've said it was a misdial and pretended to be okay. He should've done a hundred things and he did the one thing he shouldn't, because despite everything that happened between them, Scar felt safest with the one who hurt him. He said, a trembling whisper, "No."

    Grain feels his eyes widen as he reads the letter. He was shaking, accidentally crumbling the paper in his hands. He lifts the letter closer to his face, just to make sure that he's read it correctly. Then he read it again. Then one more time to make sure.

     

    or, HotGuy is forced to have a sidekick CuteGuy. Both don't really like each other. Good thing Grian has ulterior motives, trying to find his missing family and all that. Wait, Boatem, Scars family, is also missing? What a coincidence...

    The insurmountable sound of the roof caving in, the support beams failing, and the marble decorations shattering around him seemed to stop all at once. There was nothing but silence. Cold, abrupt, threatening silence.

    As quickly as it had begun, the disaster simply ceased.

    “Woah,” an unknown voice chimed, echoing through the rubble. A man smiled down at him, his expression bordering somewhere between surprised and amused. “You’ve caused quite a bit of chaos here, haven’t you?”

    After accidentally wreaking havoc inside a temple in the woods, Grian finds himself indebted to a god he doesn't know, as well as a strange man who calls himself the temple's priest.

    Grian knew a lot of things.

    He knew how to cook for a crew of 60 people. He knew how to clean and scrub the deck until his arms went numb. He knew how to avoid being the crew's punching bag for the night. He knew when to shut up and do what he was told.

    But most importantly — he knew not to hope.

    Because hoping hurts.

    So when a battle ends and an unfamiliar man steps into the kitchen, grinning at him like he’s not just another piece of plunder, Grian doesn’t know how to react. And when he’s led onto the deck to meet the pirate captain — the man who now holds his fate in his hands — he braces himself for another cage.

    Instead, he’s met with curiosity. Freedom. A handshake, instead of shackles.

    And, for the first time in years, a dangerous flicker of something he told himself he’d never feel again.

    Hope.
