    The management angel replied evenly:

    Jason clicked his tongue. “Yeah. That tracks.”

    He kept reading.

    …Wait. What?

    His movement froze. Two slender pale fingers stiffened along the edge of the file board, and his blue eyes slowly widened. The air around him seemed to go very, very quiet.

    At the center of the board, two glowing profile images appeared.

    The first showed a red-haired man, grinning brightly, shoulders relaxed, eyes shining like sparks.

    The second showed a black-haired man with a cold expression, shoulders tense, though grief still lingered faintly in his brow.

    Jason stared at the second face for a long time—so long he forgot to blink.

    That is him.
