And here's the thing; Elizabeth enjoys learning the way of the sword. She loves learning to fight and dueling her brother, even if the training is harsh under her mother's watchful eyes. But Ciel is her fiancé, and her fiancé is afraid of ladies who aren’t innocent and weak, and so what choice does she have, really? If Ciel wants a cute and proper wife, then that's what Elizabeth will be. It won't be too hard, after all; she has always liked beautiful things.
She hides her swords and covers herself with lace and frills because it’s the only armor she’ll ever wear now, rapiers tucked into their sheaths and ribbons in her hair as she slips on low-heeled shoes.
Girls like Elizabeth are meant to be made of sugar (enough to make your teeth rot), spice (but never too much or you’ll be gossip for the rest of the week) and everything nice (because if you aren’t a gentle lady then it seems that you aren’t much of a lady at all).
