Summary
Regina Mills, a centuries-old, sultry vampire, pens her life story—complete with explicit sex marathons and drama—as a romance novel, believing her life is flawless fiction. She expects literary worship. Instead, she gets Emma Swan, a goofy, cynical editor who rejects the manuscript for being "ludicrously unrealistic." Emma believes only the messy truth is magic.
Regina's retaliation? She buys the entire publishing house. Emma is forced into tense, late-night editing sessions in Regina’s gothic lair. The power clash is instant comedy: Regina's ancient glamour is comically useless against Emma's clumsy immunity and honest sarcasm.
The tension explodes during a rewrite of a primal, passionate scene. Their physical encounter is raw, real, and utterly terrifying to Regina, who instantly panics. Afraid of vulnerability, Regina pushes Emma away in a devastating lie.
But Emma won't let their story end in tragedy. At Regina’s public book launch, Emma demands the truth. In a desperate, final finale, Regina pulls Emma into the shadows. Her messy, consuming bite is a confession: Emma's chaotic, honest love is the only reality worth living. Their explicit union is the ultimate rejection of the fairytale.
