In the middle of goodbyes and next hangout plans, a loud snap interrupts the silence of the surrounding forest, a tree branch cracking in half, and Sam nearly leaps out of his skin.
Eyes wide in alarm point at the nearest patch of visible trees. “What was that?”
Unaffected by the noise, Sebastian sighs, “Probably that Beau girl. She's always in the mines, I think she uses the trail back there to get to her cabin or something. I've seen her before.”
Sam frowns, worry pulsing in his chest. Why? He tries not to think about it. His knowledge about the town's new farmer is limited, he helped move her in a couple weeks ago alongside Seb and Abby, and that's all. He hasn't seen much of her since, so knowing she frequently visited the mines– a place filled with monsters– is news to him.
“Is she alright?”

Summary
Summers at grandpa's farm were the best time of the year; helping around with crops and animals, swimming in the river, eating fresh cherries directly from the tree... and him. Coming back to Pelican Town meant she could spend the summer afternoons with Sam again.
However, something happened last time they attended the Dance of the Moonlight Jellies and she wouldn't set foot in the farm until years after.

Summary
After scoring a spot in the Ferngill Republic Annual Battle of the Bands, Sam Neilson and his band compete in the first round in hopes of scoring a major contract and tour. It's a big leap, but Sam is willing to try anything to get them out there.
Kerri Barton is close to living her dream. Her band, made up of her boyfriend and best friend, is a favorite to win at FGABOTB and they are really starting to get major traction on social media. This could finally be their year.
