Lune and Sciel had set up camp. She was surprised Lune hadn’t objected to letting Esquie comfort Maelle - trusting a relative stranger, even one of legend, with something so precious was unlike her - but every time Maelle had looked at either of them she’d tried to apologise and started crying again, so when the living embodiment of a hug had lumbered over to her they didn’t stop him.
Sciel had watched until Maelle tired herself out anyway. That was one of her girls settled down. The other promised to be a greater challenge.

Summary
In an alternate universe, having not yet lost all faith in humanity, in a final, desperate bid for help, Anya sends a distress signal from the Tulpar into outer space during the days leading up to her overdose.
This leads to Jimmy's reign of terror being intercepted by a passing vessel before anyone dies.
It does not, however, lead to Jimmy's actions being undone, nor does it lead to the dismantling of the capitalist dystopia in which the crew of the Tulpar live. It's not easy to return to earth when you've been surviving in hell.
What it does do, is present an opportunity for each crew member to foster hope, friendship and healing.
Perhaps, despite it all, everything will be alright, in the end.
This is going to hurt, but maybe not forever.
