Summary
"You shouldn't be drinking," Qiuyuan points out, rehearsed. He can never settle knowing that those from Jianghu could be looming over his shoulder. "We need to get going early."
Rover laughs, his voice ringing like a bell. He doesn't miss how his partner's foot nudges his. "I have you to take care of me, Yuanyuan."
Qiuyuan doesn't have a retort to that, not really. The two of them both know it's true, then he hears the barkeep pausing before them. He wonders what she thinks their relationship is. He would say that it's one of partnership, one built on trust that neither of them will wake up with a knife in their neck the next morning.
"I'm not dragging you back to my room."
------
In which Qiuyuan and Rover are on the run from people hunting them and despite that. their arrangement when they reach an inn remains strong.

Despite feeling like he already knows the answer, Rover hears himself ask, his voice barely audible over the quiet, tinged with hurt. “...All alone?” Were you enduring this all alone?

Summary
Bêtise: an act of foolishness or stupidity.
Tim Drake had a reputation. The smart one, people called him. The clever Robin. The first one to think pants were great. The strategist, the brilliant mind, the greatest detective after Bruce.
His intelligence was his strength, if you asked most people.
If you asked Tim Drake, his intelligence was his shield.
Not many people realized that beneath that beautiful veneer of extremely high IQ was the guy whose childhood dream before discovering Batman was to stick his hand in an alligator's mouth. As he grew older and older, his impulsive desires only got worse.
Case in point: meeting an eldritch horror.
The normal response to meeting the adoptive(?) or biological(?) child of The Upside-Down Man that had scared the shit out of Hecate herself was to run. Flee, in fact.
Timothy Drake, though?
Timothy Drake only realized just how limited his imagination was in how many ways you could seduce a monster.
Here we fucking go.
