    Summary

    Things… change.

Ghost supposes that many would probably say that they get better. They do get better, don’t they? Yes, they do. Things change, and they are better. The Infection is gone, and Hollow is safe, and Hornet is happy, and so Ghost is fine. Perhaps they are selfish, and they mourn a dying world that they can never return to, and they are more alone than ever before, but they’ll get over it.

…And it’s not as if anyone will notice if they don’t.

Ghost goes back in time, kills the Radiance, and sets everything right. They tell no one, and do it on their own. It is only after their family is happy, and the kingdom is safe, and the Abyss is soothed to sleep, that they realize just how lonely it is as the last remaining piece of a future never to be.

I stared down at myself. Red dress. Long black limbs. I reached up, expecting to feel hair, and my weirdly thin, spindly fingers touched two smooth curved horns.

    “No freaking way.”

    I was in the game.

So what do you do when you wake up in Silksong on the morning of release day?

Get right into saving Pharloom, of course.

    Summary

Ghost ends the Infection much earlier, leaving Hallownest with something of a society that must now pick up the pieces. Catastrophic resource shortages, an unstable political landscape, and a population scarred by plague leave every able body stretched thin. Still, Hornet is grateful for her mother's presence, something she never thought she would have. This is, of course, complicated when a chorus from Pharloom attempts to capture a weaverling. With the weavers as a whole too injured to run, and no longer able to hide, a new solution must be found: diplomacy.

Pharloom is starved for Silk, as it always has been. When a chorus returns, bearing news of Mother's wayward children, Lace expects things to stay the same. Unfortunately, these stray weavers are guarded by a Wyrm, and Mother is reluctant to challenge another higher being in her diminished state. However, she cannot simply let her children go. Diplomacy is the only option.

The unholy fusion of a war-gaming enthusiast and an alien engineer are stranded in a decaying universe that has known naught but war for centuries.

Both of them unanimously agree that the status quo will be among the first things here that they break over their tiny knee.

"Alright, so long-term Taylor needs to either tinker up a teleporter to get us back home or gain a new power that solves that problem," Madison began. "Still leaves us with the standard short-term problems--food, shelter, IDs, etcetera. We have no money--nothing that the locals would consider legal tender, anyway--and we have nothing we can sell. Now, I technically can hack into the computer systems and get us set up with bank accounts and IDs."

"Sounds illegal," Amy deadpanned. "Aren't we supposed to be heroes?"

Madison waggled a hand. "I'd probably just skim from some billionaire assholes, they're not going to notice anything under a hundred thousand dollars... or however that much is in yen. The IDs, yeah, more morally grey, but we literally don't have any paperwork whatsoever."

"Speaking from experience, I can live with a little ID fraud if it keeps us from sleeping out on the streets," Emily said bluntly.

"Right. The bigger problem is the laws around quirks."
