"Charles has never been cared for. He's grown up with the push and pull of violence and submission carved into him with the scars along his back. Edwin has never cared for anyone. He was taught not to from the moment he was born into an apathetic aristocratic family with enough money to cook up for absence and negligence. Charles has learnt love the wrong way, the tinted, conditional and cruel type while Edwin never learnt it at all. Somehow, they manage to find love and care in the most unusual of places; extended grand hallways with polished wooden doors and draped navy blue velvet curtains, tight foreign dorms and an unusually quiet skate park."

“He is gone,” Charles choked out, wet and desperate, “I can’t feel him Crystal, he is gone.”
It rang true, sucking all the oxygen in the space around them until it was painfully obvious that, even if soulmates could be separated by Death, Hell would have to try a lot harder. Even if the soul mark was gone and Charles grieved the loss of half his soul, he would wreak havoc until there was nothing left of him.
Or: the soulmate au where when Edwin gets taken to Hell the soul mark and ‘soul bond’ disappears, leaving Charles uncertain if Edwin is still even ‘alive’ yet he goes down to Hell anyways.

It seemed their pasts would always haunt them no matter how fast or how far they ran, waiting at every corner to push them back to the ground. Unlearning one's past will never be an easy fit, so when anger clouds Charles’ judgement and sorrow rips Edwin's chest apart they are bloody glad to have each other to fall back into.
Or: A particular case, which reminds them all too much of their own painful experiences, forces the two ghosts to face their past. It’s not a pretty sight but luckily they have each other to hold tight onto until they get to the other side.

What was intriguing though, was that, somehow, the only thing remaining from his company was the Intelligence Virtual Youth. Ivy was the only one left standing from the company that nobody thought could ever fail.
