“So, what are three children I’ve never seen in my life doing my house?”. The three exchanged looks with each other—indecipherable to the older man. When they seemed to finish their brief silent conversation, the boy in the middle pulled a black leather notebook onto the table, strangely familiar.
“I found this diary in my godfather’s attic,” the green-eyed boy said, looking at Regulus with expectation, as if the older man should know exactly what he was talking about.“And it had this photo.”
Now Regulus understood why the boy was so painfully familiar. Because he remembered that photograph. He recognized the people moving in that tiny moment captured in time, the place in the background where it had been taken, and he even knew who had taken it. recognized himself and the other child at his side, smiling in Grandma Melania’s garden.
“I want to invite you to my godfather’s birthday,” the boy said, and if Regulus had been drinking his tea, he probably would have spat it out.

Solely based on the information presented by all the history books and the Daily Prophet, where he had envisioned a well taken care of, well educated - if maybe a bit arrogant due to prominency- young wizard, there stood a small, unsure, untrusting and scared little boy.
