Nick grabs him by the waist and spins him around like he weighs nothing more than a feather, which, Matthew briefly notes, judging by the muscles peeking out from the sleeves of his shirt, probably is the case, at least for him.
“I feel like I’m in The Notebook right now,” Naveena says, her mouth slightly hanging open, a smudge of red lipstick on her front tooth.

The band has never been shy about that stuff, love and sex and everything that goes with it, but he hasn’t been able to contribute any gory details in a long ass time. No stories about bad hookups (or good ones), no late nights stumbling down hotel hallways or sneaking someone on and then off the tour bus. No more slightly buzzed answers about his exploits, what he likes and doesn’t like, what gets him off fast and what draws it out slow and sweet. The only thing he’s been able to do when the conversation veers in that direction is listen.
In fact, at this point, Luke’s pretty sure he knows more about his bandmates’ preferences than his own and if his ears perk up a little bit more when it’s Julie’s turn to share, well she hasn’t noticed that either, so it’s fine.

For a minute, it seems like she might hold it together… but all at once, her eyes well up, and her smile cracks at the edges. She runs away before she can start bawling. Luke is left looking traumatized all the same.
“Why does this keep happening?” he demands, throwing his hands up.
Bobby’s head slams down on the cafeteria table. Reggie springs to his feet, seconds from chasing after Luke’s rejected date, before Alex’s hand on the back of his t-shirt pulls him back down.

“Okay….” she dragged the word out, hesitantly.
She hadn’t missed any more classes and her grades had been good. Plus, he didn’t have his scary face on, so it probably wasn’t bad news…

Before they can answer, the walkie talkie crackles to life. “Alex, are you talking to the girls that can sing yet? Are they cute?” The voice asks, causing who Julie can only assume is Alex, to roll his eyes.
He sighs before clicking the side button and bringing the device to his mouth. “Yes, Luke, I’m at their car, and they can hear you,” he scolds. “I’m so sorry about him.” He directs towards them, finger still holding down the button so the speaker can hear him apologize.
“Oh, uhh, sorry,” the voice adds somewhat sheepishly. Alex goes to put it back down, seemingly satisfied with his apology, but stops when he sees Flynn’s expectant stare. He brings the black box back up to his face. “Okay. Yes, they’re cute. Would you like to flirt with them over the walkie talkie or can I actually take their orders?”

And okay, Julie knows she came over to yell at the asshole playing his music too loud and is now just gawking at him. But in her defence, she didn’t know he was going to be so hot.
