Derek stared- no words leaving him as his eyes roved over the bare skin and the art that adorned it. The lithe muscles of his abdomen were inked with thick, Celtic knotwork as well as more animals- both mystical and humane- and the biggest of all, resting right above his heart and seeming to glow against the pale skin: the Hale triskelion.
Stiles returns from college and spark-training to see his favorite Sourwolf and the pack- covered in tattoos. And Derek is...sharply curious. And in the end, entirely helpless.

“No, he wasn’t,” he insisted, finishing up with his things but not standing, since Erica was still giving him a look.
“Derek, he was totally asking you out.”
“Trust me, he wasn’t. He asks me about my weekends all the time.”
“Then he’s either clued in to your stupidity, or really bad at taking no for an answer, because I can tell that kid is crazy about you.” Erica flipped some hair over her shoulder, then grabbed her books.

“I think it’d be sweet,” Talia said from the head of the table. “You’ve known one another for a long time, and this would certainly solve the Werewolf problem.”
“Derek is not my soulmate,” Stiles insisted. “I mean, look at him!” He motioned Derek. “He’s all grumpy and sourwolfish, and I mean, yeah, he’s great to look at, with the stubble and the working out, and face of a God sculpted out of stone and all that, and arms that could definitely carry me damsel-in-distress style whenever he wanted and what was I talking about again?” He turned back to Talia. “I think I lost my train of thought.”
