Rook sighed, dropping her head on Emmrich's desk in an exaggerated show of eye-rolling. “You know, this wouldn’t be happening if you just kept a bed in your room.”
“You don’t have a bed in your room either,” Emmrich shot back, hearing the pettiness in his voice but unable to do anything about it.
“At least I have a couch! With cushions!” Rook rose to a sitting position with a grumble, looking around Emmrich’s room with a searching eye. “How about the floor?
“I am not,” Emmrich said, in the tones of grievously wounded dignity, “having sex on the floor."

Emmrich and Rook try to spend some quality time in his room. His furniture—or rather, lack of—are an unexpected impediment.
