Bookmarker's Notes
I like the unusual choice of putting the whole work in italic formatting. Given the convention (at least in American English books) of formatting thoughts in italics, this emphasizes Odile’s unheard mental dialogue throughout this “loop” (episode of time looping) in the game.
While the plot of the loop is conveyed through Odile remarking on specific moments in sequence, there’s much more evidence on Odile’s opinions of events than the events themselves. Very little dialogue is shown directly: it’s all short snippets. Overall, second-person point-of-view aside, it’s like Odile is writing this to herself in a journal, although it’s improbable or impossible Odile would actually write so much and as it happens. (The idea she would furiously write, “No matter what, you don’t want that [Mirabelle’s shield against the King’s attacks] to run out” in the middle of combat is absurd.)

Summary
They recalled how Joy would always make them tea - their personal favourite beverage - and pet their hair gently, talking them through every bad thought that littered their mind until they eventually fell asleep. Joy wasn't here now, and Anxiety hardly felt deserving of such affection. All they had caused was trouble, and yet Joy still cared. And they wanted to know why.
Wasn't the world too cruel for such a good person? Didn't she get worn down, beat to the ground, and utterly defeated? Or hopeless, as Anxiety themself felt? They didn't understand and grumbled in distaste, slumping in the armchair.

Bookmarker's Notes
A short yet enjoyable work. It's horrific and focused with riveting prose.
