Summary
Ilya is sipping a cappuccino and watching Shane do very perverted yoga when he realizes that he doesn’t want to die.
It’s a dumb series of thoughts. He sees Shane bend over, neatly folding himself into a hunchback as his hands flatten by his feet, and Ilya thinks, I bet he’s going to love it when we’re old and grey and he can outrace me with my stupid hip replacement. And then he realizes that not only does he anticipate being old and grey enough to need a hip replacement, but that he actually wants to get there.

Or: the existential crisis that happens when you’ve been depressed your whole life and then realize, suddenly, in your thirties, that you’re happy enough with your life that you no longer want to die.

Summary
The command had sliced through him like a knife, and Shane had very nearly opened his mouth. It didn’t just paralyse his jaw, his entire body locked up, shock rippling through him.
No matter how many comments were made, neither of them had ever been so evil as to order him so directly. Not since-
But then Ilya Rozanov had tackled both of them to the ground, flinging his entire body weight at them, skates flying into the air.
-
AU where Shane just wants to play hockey but biology and shitty teammates make it nearly impossible. Ilya just wants to have some good competition on the ice. They make it work (eventually).

Summary
“Is this about the choking thing?” Shane asks. “I only said no to that because I’m not letting you compromise my fucking airway during sex.”
“But it is not compromising your airway when my dick is in your throat?”
“No. This is why you lost today, because that’d be my esophagus, not my trachea,” Shane corrects. He’s such an asshole sometimes, Ilya loves it. “Anyways, I don’t think we do anything kinky?”
Ilya abruptly feels like he’s lost the plot. “Hollander, I am pretty sure we do.”
shane has a bad call. afterwards, ilya makes sure he gets what he needs.

Summary
Shane’s immediate reaction is to say that he doesn't know when it started. He doesn’t know who his soulmate is. This is what he’s been telling himself for years, because if he stops for more than a second to think about how long he's been collecting little pieces of Ilya Rozanov, he thinks he'll spiral out of control.
He'll hit the deck like a firecracker dropped unceremoniously onto the sidewalk, burning wildly and spiralling haphazardly, until he's fizzled out with nothing left to show for himself but smoke, ashes, and the knowledge that his soul is bound to Rozanov's.
or:
shane hollander spends twenty-five years not thinking about his soulmate. the drawer in his apartment filled with cigarettes, toothpaste, and awful t-shirts says elsewise.

Summary
“How long since you’ve had what you need?” Claude asks.
Felix still won’t look at him, but his jaw is so tight it looks like it might break. “A while. Before the war ended.”
Before the -- what? “The war’s been over for almost a year.” He’s never heard of a submissive going that long without it, especially in times of stress.
