Summary
Tired of the burden of fame, Ash Ketchum, Monarch of the World, decides to disappear into a whole new adventure in the isolated region of Paldea. Eager to participate in the region's famous "Treasure Hunt," Ash must first attend Scarlet Academy and its rigorous Battle School, but unknown to our hero, he is wandering right in to yet another world crisis...but that's nothing new.
And thus, Ash Ketchum finds himself on a new adventure; exploring rich landscapes, collecting badges, and uncovering hidden treasures and secrets alongside his friends—new and old. His journey will be a test of his skills, hidden abilities, and also deepen his connections with his companions, particularly a girl with honey-gold hair whose presence becomes increasingly significant to our young champion...

Summary
People change. Especially after traumatic experiences, and especially after growing older. And while the war is over, and he knows he should relax, everything around Ash is slipping anyway. It doesn't matter if he smiles, if the world around him doesn't smile back. He's on the Orange Islands now, and yet the people he held closest are dying flames.
And the wind is growing, distantly. Ash can't tell if it'll be the wind or themselves to break his friends the most, but for now, he seriously needs to hold onto that slowly flickering hope.
