An AU (?) set eight years after the end of the series, wherein Pacifica has drifted away from the Pines twins, and gone mostly independant of her parent, living a mostly average life, and bored out of her mind with it. Meanwhile, the Pines twins have budding lives of their own. Mabel's become a self-imployed craft-extraordinaire with an online business, while Dipper has gone into free-lance monster hunting, which is earning him an oddly high wage, for some reason he hasn't quite cared to work out. Meaning he's rich because he's accidentallied into it.

Everything about Dipper's new apartment is perfect, disregarding his snooty neighbour. However, Dipper likes to make the best of things, and his neighbour's standoffish nature is no exception. It's a challenge. If he can avoid completely embarrassing himself in front of her, then maybe they can be friends. But knowing Dipper, the chances of that happening are slim.

Sucrose’s strangled yelp was the only warning Albedo had when her experiment exploded and the entire alchemy lab was clouded by a gust of glittering purple dust.
“Sucrose? Are you alright?” said Albedo.
“Mister Albedo! Oh, I messed up on one of my equations!”
The haze was thick as Albedo waved his hand around, trying to disperse the fog that blocked his line of sight. He saw the glow of Sucrose’s vision coming closer to him.
“Ow! Ohh… That was the wall, I suppose,” said Sucrose, groaning.

Summary
It's been exactly a year since Weirdmageddon, and the Pines twins are back in Gravity Falls, where things have largely remained unchanged. The town is still bonkers, weirdness still abounds, and the shack is still the shack. However, with the Northwest Family in tatters, and Preston driven to overwhelming desperation, it's Pacifica Northwest where the wildcard lays - sparking off an awkward romance with Dipper Pines, and a tale of redemption for the heir to the fortune.
Under the watchful eye of their Grunkles and the new Mr. Mystery, the twins discover there's much that still lies in the town and its crooked history.
With swashbuckling action, awkward romances, and tender moments combined, Return to the Falls is an attempt to recapture the tone of 'Gravity Falls' - no major character deaths, no ridiculous over the top drama, no nine-hundred part series - just a group of continuous 'episodes' expanding on the lore and Gravity Falls concepts largely untouched.
Each 'episode' will be accompanied by title cards and a short comic strip or two, to bring about the ultimate level of Hirsch-style weirdness.

This Gravity Falls fanfiction series follows the adventures of Dipper, Mabel, Pacifica, Stan, Ford, and both new and old side characters three years after the conclusion of the original television show, beginning on the twins' sixteenth birthday. Each installment covers a crucial period of time in their summer and winter vacations as they navigate the pressures of growing up.
The emotional core of the series is the burgeoning relationship between Dipper and Pacifica, as they work together to figure out how they feel about each other, and who they want to be to each other in their lives ahead.
Combining realistic and complex character arcs with the Gravity Falls brand of weirdness--sometimes funny, sometimes intense, always enjoyable--this series expands on that fundamental storytelling foundation to create new and compelling tales for the characters that we all cherish.
The two most important things in life are love and the stories we share. Perhaps it is no surprise, then, that the greatest stories of all are love stories.
