Summary
"Tyranny… It won’t stand," says Johnny's soulmark. By the time he is disillusioned with the military and his soulmark is leaving a bitter taste in his mouth, it’s too late to leave.
"Are you ugly?" asks Ghost's. Is he? If Simon wasn’t, Ghost definitely is.

Summary
No one has their head screwed on right in 1-4-1.
Soap and Ghost, they are opposites in the way that puzzle pieces are. You have to see them together to get the whole picture, to understand what they are, how they work.
Simon has somatic delusions. Johnny is in love with him.

Summary
No morning drills to lead. No intel to gather. No floor plans to memorize. No threat to neutralize. Now, he was an ordinary man with ordinary problems. Like running out of tea.
Sometimes he felt like an actor in his own life, trying to convince some spectator that he actually needed tea.
But he had been through this before, and he was trying. Oh he was trying so hard about doing things just for himself.
This work has been heavily inspired by bluishfishfood's CoffeeShopAU comics on Tumblr.

Summary
It has been a long time since there was first a Lucy, then a Desmond shaped gap beside him and Rebecca. It has been years since that wound was raw and bleeding. Years since it crusted over, years since they picked at the scabs, then let it be, then it let it heal. Scarred over.
Yet, the body remembers the old wounds.
[Previously named: degradation (old scars)]
