If this were a different story, Zack thinks, he would be using his last moments to remember kind, green eyes and a sweet smile. He would be staring out into the raining sky, life running out of him, while making peace with the fact that he would never see his first love again. If this were a different story, Zack would not be left empty-handed, crying out as his friend stumbles away into the remnants of a battlefield. He would not be praying for that blond head to turn, aching to capture the final sight of a cherished face before locking it behind two lids.
No, this does not feel like a fitting end to this story at all―and Zack overflows with the one childish thought that this is unbearably unfair. In the rare moments that he, as any soldier must, contemplated his death, he never imagined that he would die alone.

Claudia passes down the entirety of her knowledge and Cloud takes to it easily. There are a few others in Nibelheim who practice Nibel braiding and Cloud feels a flicker of pride at sharing something so unique with so few. He’s become increasingly isolated from others his age—partly his own doing, partly from Tifa’s accident—and he finds comfort in being able to say so much with so little.

She slips her arm through his and guides him across the adjacent bridge and deeper into the garden. “The flowers… they tell me things y’know. That’s how I learned that they hold meaning, every single one.”
Zack hums, curious. The overgrown flower beds border them on either side of the path, petals skimming his legs and arms. They’re soft, second only to Cloud’s fingertips trailing across his skin.
“They’ve helped me put names to the things I’ve been feeling lately,” Aerith extends her free hand and Zack swears the cluster of flowers just beyond her reach sway closer in response. “Hm. Sounds like they want to help you put names to some things too.”

“Assholes with big mouths.” Cloud muttered. He let the door shut behind him reluctantly. With it went his fleeting hope for a quiet rest of his night. “Speaking of; what do you want?”
“That’s real nice. She’s here to ask for your help, y’know.”

“Your squad-mates sure now how to crash a—” date “—party,” Zack says.
Cloud sighs, “Yeah.”
Vaguely, Zack is aware of noise behind him, cracking the night air like fragile glass. But he can’t pay attention to that, not when it’s happening again; Zack’s chest swelling with suppressed feelings. With love and adoration, so deep its almost painful, doubly so when Cloud is before him, vulnerable and uncertain. Questioning himself. Zack wants to rip himself apart at the seams rather than keep all this locked up inside his heart. Zack has to tell him. Sooner or later, he’s just going to blurt it out at the worst moment, spill his secret in a way that embarrasses Cloud, mortifies them both something terrible and awful.
“Cloud—” Zack starts, cutting off when Cloud’s eyes widen, jerking out of Zack’s gentle hold.Alternatively: Five (5) times Zack almost confesses, and the one (1) time Cloud accidentally does.

He also sees spirits, which might be cool if not for the fact that a) no one else does, b) they really don't like him very much, and c) he's pretty sure the heroes now think he's a villain working for the League.
Aizawa Shota just wants to take down Overhaul, rescue Eri, keep his students alive, get some rest, and find out how this Deku kid knows things he absolutely should not know about his personal life and the Shie Hassaikai case.
Unless Nighteye's right, and the kid really is a villain.

The kids—” Here, he pressed his fist harder to his mouth, sucked in a wheezing breath, as if the air itself was pushing down something with physical weight. “The kids—”
“Scattered immediately,” Aizawa finished for him, and Yagi managed a nod.
Yagi’s eyes were so dilated that the blue was almost invisible. He shook violently. He looked like a scarecrow in a windstorm.
Someone activated a Fear-Inducer Quirk so powerful that it reduced All Might to this— of course Aizawa’s class had bolted.
