"Steve. You're here." The surprise in Eddie's voice pulled Steve out of his stupor.
"You called me," Steve replied with a shrug.
"And you really came."
"Of course I did." Steve would always come when a friend explicitly asked him to. What had Eddie expected? Had he not actually wanted Steve to come by?
They stood there, just looking each other for a minute or so before Eddie shook his head as if to shake of a thought. “You want to come in?”
“Yeah… uh, that would probably be good right?” Steve replied awkwardly and walked past Eddie when he stepped aside a little to let Steve in.Eddie calls Steve late one night and asks him to come over because of a nightmare. It becomes a habit and changes their relationship.

None of the national, standardized tests were supposed to happen this month and even being two minutes late to one of those wouldn’t elicit this sort of reaction. They were discussing their career interest forms today, but that was it. Nothing time-critical was supposed to be happening.
“Midoriya, you were reported missing a week ago. No one has seen you for eight days. The police have been combing the city for you.”
"I’m sorry. What?”
Midoriya Izuku went missing for a week and turned up in a back alleyway with skills he's never even heard of and no memory of how he came by them. He resigns himself to never learning the truth of what happened to him, but he shouldn't waste this chance should he? He could become a hero with reflexes like these.

Summary
Blue moved her muzzle towards them, the top of it reaching far above their heads, her head overwhelming the remaining tunnel. She stopped as close to Lance as she could, hovering the line of her jaw less than a foot from his helmet. Her mind churned forward, unusually strong and loud in Pidge's own mind with boiling pain. She was a dark, blue cloud reaching for Lance--and he reached back, a blue extension that melded into hers, like he was searching for a second hand to hold.
She couldn’t protect her Paladin.
Pidge looked into the huge yellow eye that angled down at them. It bored into her.
Her strength, her speed, her skills-- none of it would help.
She felt Blue’s terror, her helpless anguish.
None of it mattered.
Pidge pushed harder, but more blood seeped through her fingers.

The fire was building. It was stretching thin. It was churning and ripping and expanding beyond Keith’s reach. Keith screamed more--Stop! Stop! Please!-- but he’d stopped hearing himself.
The creatures had never intended to let them leave. They may have wanted him to talk, but nothing he could ever say was going to change what would happen.
Keith was no longer coherent. All he could manage was the same plea, over and over.
They were going to kill them.
The fire had crescendoed to spread beyond the infrastructure of the base. It was reaching out to the forest around them, and up into the air above.
They were going to kill them. Starting with Lance.

An uninhabited planet is not, in fact, uninhabited, and Pidge, Lance, and Keith are captured. Separated, they are forced to face the problem alone. But it's soon clear that their situation is much worse than any of them anticipated.
