There was probably a rule in the book about friendship to not engage with your friend’s roommate. You didn’t have the opportunity to read the whole chapter because you never had much decent friends to reach that level.
Therefore, you weren’t fully at fault for kneeling on the floor with your head between Galinda’s thighs.
Elphaba must’ve ended classes early. You froze as the door swung wide opened, your mind replaying the past few moments before, trying to recall if Galinda had locked the door. Obviously she hadn’t, because Elphaba had already stepped in, not even glancing up from her book, she shut the door behind her.
